Almond Shortbread! Yum!

I was in journalism, sitting next to Amrutha, who is a food blogger, so I decided to do a recipe.

Doesn't it look delicious?

Recipe
Ingredients: Makes 3 dozen

1 cup butter                                                                           2 1/2 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar                                                                1/3 cup granulated sugar for decoration
2 tsp. almond extract

Directions:

  • In a large bowl, beat butter with 1/2 cup sugar and almond extract until light and fluffy. With wooden spoon, stir in flour until smooth and well combined. Divide dough into 2 parts. Refrigerate, covered for 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • On lightly sugared surface, roll out dough, one part at a time, about 1/2 inch thick. Using a 1 1/2 inch round cookie cutter, cut out cookies. Place 1 inch apart, on ungreased cookie sheet. With end of wooden spoon, or cookie press, make an indentation in center of each cookie.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until light golden brown around the edges. While still warm, roll in sugar. Cool completely on a wire rack.

  • Try it out!

How Many of You like S'mores? That should be ALL of you! They are amazing!!Okay, let’s get indulgent. First off, to enjoy these S’mores Éclairs you’ll have to bypass the classic expectation of a pastry cream-filled éclair. The set up for this classic turned sideways is a roasted marshmallow center and a pate choux that is made with finely crushed graham crackers for a S'mores profiling.

    LOOK GOOD?? ....I thought SO!!

HERE IS HOW YOU MAKE IT!

    Ingredients:

    PATE CHOUX

    • 1 cup water
    • 3/4 stick butter (6 tablespoons)
    • 2 tablespoon sugar plus
    • 4 3/4 ounces bread flour
    • 1 cup finely crushed graham crackers ( about 12 crackers)
    • 1 cup eggs, about 4 large eggs and 2 whites
    • 2 cups mini marshmallows, set aside for assembly

    CHOCOLATE GLAZE

    • 4oz dark chocolate
    • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
    • 4 tablespoons powdered sugar, sifted
    • 4-5 tablespoons water, warm

    WHITE CHOCOLATE GLAZE

    • 4 oz white chocolate chips
    • 1/4 cup heavy cream

    Directions:

    TO MAKE PATE CHOUX:

    1. Place water, butter and sugar in a medium size sauce pan and bring to a boil. Remove pan from heat and add flour, using a wooden spoon or a sturdy spatula stir mixture until it comes together. Then return pan to heat. Continue stirring and working the mixture until all flour is incorporated and dough forms a ball. Transfer mixture into a standing mixer bowl and let cool for 3 or 4 minutes.
    2. Fit stand mixer with a whisk attachment and set mixer to low. Add 1 egg at a time, making sure each egg is completely incorporated before continuing. Once all eggs have been added and the mixture is smooth put dough into piping bag fitted with a round tip. Immediately pipe into golfball-size shapes, 2 inches apart onto parchment lined sheet pans. Bake for 10 minutes, then turn the oven down to 350 degrees F and bake for 10 more minutes or until golden brown. Once they are removed from the oven pierce with a paring knife immediately to release steam.

    TO MAKE CHOCOLATE GLAZE

    1. Place chocolate and heavy cream in a bowl over simmering water. Let chocolate and cream sit for 2-3 minutes to melt without stirring. Then slowly stir mixture to combine.
    2. Add powdered sugar and mix to combine.
    3. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing after each addition until pouring consistency is reached.
    4. Set aside and let sauce cool to warm.

    TO MAKE WHITE CHOCOLATE GLAZE

    1. Place white chocolate chips in a heat proof bowl. Boil heavy cream. Pour boiled heavy cream over chocolate and let sit. Do not stir for 3-4 minutes. Then using a sturdy spatula gently stir and fold chocolate, continue until chocolate is completely melted. Chocolate may appear lumpy for the first few stirs, but will melt into smoothness. Transfer mixture to a pastry bag fitted with a number 2 round tip or a place mixture in a Ziploc bag and cut a small hole in one corner.

    ASSEMBLY

    1. Cut eclair in half horizontally. Remove tops and place on a cooling rack. Pour chocolate glaze on top. Pipe white chocolate horizontally across. Use a toothpick and starting at the top drag the toothpick vertically through horizontal lines. Draw second line with toothpick start in the opposite direction (from the bottom) and drag it vertically from bottom to top. Continue to alternate starting points for the vertical lines.
    2. Take bottoms of éclair and fill it with mini marshmallows. Place filled éclairs on a bake sheet. Turn on oven broiler and roast éclair filled bottoms for 2-3 minutes. Make sure to keep the door open and watch the éclairs closely as the marshmallows quickly move from golden to burnt. Turn bake sheet as needed to keep marshmallows from burning. Cool slightly, place éclair top on marshmallow.

    Party Look!

Hey guys! I'm back! So I've been trying to figure out what to post and then I thought of our school dance (even though the dance is Halloween themed) and thought of how i can teach you guys to dress up for a party!

Here is the look i'm aiming for.......

    Isn't she gorgeous?!?!

    Step 1: The Outfit!
You can get a cute dress just about anywhere. If you want to get it for a cheaper price, i would try Khols or JCPenny. If your okay with the more expensive side with a little better variety, I would try a shop at the mall like Forever 21.

    Step 2: The Makeup!

    Eyes!!!

    Her eyes are so beautiful!

If you want to go for a bold look i suggest a smokey eye (as shown above). But if you want to keep it simple, I just go for some light eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara. If you want instructions for doing a smokey eye you can just look up my last blog post.

    Lips!!!

This is the simple look for the eyes! OMG, Megan Fox is so Beautiful!!!

Her lips are the bold kind. If you really want to rock that party and own it you should try a dark color for your lips. That would really help you stand out! If you aren't really into that bold and dark lipstick I would just try a lighter shade or just a cute lip gloss.

    Cheeks and Face!!!
Basically you would just add a light layer of foundation to get that natural beauty. then add a layer of blush on your cheekbone with brushstrokes that go up your cheeks and away from the center of your face. This way you will look beautiful and won't have to damage your skin because of all those thick layers of makeup.

    Step 3: Hair!
You can do your hair in a number of ways to a party. You can just put your hair in a simple messy side bun or let your hair down in pretty curls or just straight. If you want to learn hoe to do the side bun, click on the link below.

This is kind of what it looks like!

Hint: CLICK This: Here Is How You Do It!! <3

Well that's it for now but keep checking every few days for new posts!
    BYE!!!!

    The Eye of the Night

How To Make The Magic Happen!
    1. Put some Black eye shadow around the outer portion of your eye to get the shadow to pop and also eye liner to edge of your eye right above the lashes.
    2. Next fill it in with any color you would like but the one that really would stand out in the gleaming lights of the town is silver.
    3. On the inner tip of your eye add a lighter color, in this case, white. You ave to add this color to contrast the shadow.
    4. After that, blend the black outline you did in the first step to the outside of your eye.
    5. To the bottom tip of your eye add some shimmering silver to make your eye pop.
    6. Add a shadow that matches your skin tone and blend the black eye shadow with it.
    7. Re-add liner so it looks bore bold
    8. finally add some mascara to finish it off.

Well there you have it, perfect for a night out in the town!
